Camping

The afterworlds event site is a themed event site. To promote the immersion of the game and to maximize the area that is considered to be in game at all times, there are some rules about themed camping you need to follow.

A high detail post apocalyptic tent.
You don't have to go to this extent. However, this is a good example of the vibe we are looking for.

In game themed camping

If you have access to one of the many sheds on site, you can camp in that cabin. Sometimes there may be sheds open to be reserved, but most of the sheds were built by the players who inhabit them and are often reserved by those players. We are always striving to add more sheds and areas to camp, but space is limited.

If you don't have access to a shed, but want to camp in game, you will need to bring a themed tent. Themed tents don't have to be permanently altered, a covering that provides the illusion of a post apocalyptically themed tent will suffice. You can use weathered and old canvas tents if you have access to them. If you have a more modern tent, you can use things like camo nets, old torn or painted sheets, or pretty much anything you come up with to hide the fact that your tent isn't an apocalyptic hovel.

If you choose to place your themed tent in the in game area:

  • You need to clear the location with staff before you set up, as many places may be set aside for plot reasons.
  • You accept the possiblility that your tent may be damaged by in game activities, especially at night when vision is low.

Out of game camping

When you camp in the out of game area, you don't need a themed tent of any kind. Travel to and from the themed zone is done out of game using specially marked exits. These exits have posted rules on how they work. You don't have to fight your way too and from the out of game area. Just use an exit.
